It doesn't have to be so hard - Five tips for healthier eating

Let's be honest - making dietary changes and eating healthy can poise some challenges. Diets can seem boring, busy schedules can cause you to hit the fast food drive thru, and fads can make the concept of healthy eating quite confusing. Here are five tips that can help you eat healthier:

Replace toppings, condiments, etc. that add fat with healthy alternatives: A few examples include adding low-fat nutrient-packed salsa to a baked potato (surprisingly tasty!) as opposed to butter/sour cream or trying a spicy mustard as opposed to mayo on a turkey sandwich.

Five tips to help keep your exercise New Year’s resolution

When the New Year’s celebrations are over, many of us focus on the resolution of getting more exercise. Surveys have found that 30 percent of those who make resolutions don’t last into February and about 20 percent keep their resolutions going after six months or more.

With this in mind, we offered five tips for keeping a resolution of more exercise:

  • Don’t try to get into tip-top shape in two weeks with an extreme exercise program. That is a sure way to injury and burn-out. It is better to start gradually, perhaps with a 15- minute walk, then work up to jogging.

Creating and Installing the Burma-Shave Inspired RunPhones Signs

We love how the Burma-Shave signs from the 1920's to 1960's dotted the great American roadways with humor and public service, while promoting their shaving cream. It was phased out as cars started driving faster, and it became too difficult to read the signs. We are bringing back this fun advertising campaign with RunPhones. Even the runners who make it in under 1 hour and 15 minutes for a half-marathon aren't running too fast to get a chuckle from our signs!
